Lately, I've been itching to do something new. The past week was kinda crazy and I just couldn't find the time to broaden my photographic horizons. I've finally managed to try something I've never done before, playing with backgrounds!
I used Gimp and Photoscape for both the edits
Which one do you think is better?
This is the original picture.
Edit # 1
Edit # 2
I just got the BIGGEST smile on my face seeing your edits!! WOWZA! So fun and happy - I love it! How did you remove the background so cleanly? I've never learned how to do that. I don't know if I could choose a fave - the last one he looks so precious, and the 1st one looks like he's going to par-tay! SO FUN! :-)
ReplyDeleteohhh! I like the EDit # 1 :) It stands out! ... How do you do it? There is a software to do all this?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I'm torn! I love the first one, but the close-up of his little face is adorable, too! :D
ReplyDeleteMy sister is itching to cut the background out, too. I'll send her your link. :)
I've got to try GIMP again. I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
1st edit!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've just given you the Versatile Blogger Award! http://ourpeacefulhome.blogspot.com/2010/06/versatile-blogger-award.html Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHmm... Tough choice! I like both of them. I love the softness of the second edit, but the heart shape cuts off his head.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one. Way cool!
ReplyDeleteoh i like the first one..as of now i edit all my pics in picasa but it just does the basics..no fancy things that photoshop can do..got to learn it soon...

Argh! Another bloghop to add to my Be Inspired page! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE the first edit there! What a great job.
Hi! Haven't talked to you for awhile! :-) We're at my parents' cabin this week, and the computer is slooooooow! It's driving me crazy - so I'm not on much. :-) I just wanted to let you know I'd still be more than happy to set up a blog button for you if you'd like. Just wanted to touch base and make sure you didn't try to email me. (I was waiting for an email from the Trendy Treehouse last week, and totally never got it, so I'm not sure what happened there). I didn't want you to think I offered something and then disappeared - LOL! :-) But seriously, no worries either way. I left my email in an earlier comment, but really...don't feel obligated. Either way is totally good with me! :-) I did one for Adeena at Creekside if you'd like to see hers. Anyway, I hope you're having a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Have a great one!
